Vodacom
Vodacom does not honour manufacturers' warranties

My LG L5 mobile phone was not getting any reception and I took it to the Tygervalley branch for repairs. 2 days later I got a call to say that the cover was damaged and Vodacom assumed that the phone was dropped. They would therefore charge me to repair the phone. I told them in store that the phone was not dropped and the damage was a bad scratch. I asked that the phone be sent to the manufacturer LG for assessment and they can decide whether the warranty is void. Vodacom then sent the phone to their advanced repair centre in Johannesburg and I was told once again that I am liable for any repairs. I asked if they has sent the phone to LG, but no one could give me a straight answer. I keep on getting a response that the advance repair centre is handling the phone.

The phone was sent back to Tygervalley and I went to pick it up. I once again requested a note in writing stating that my phone will not be repaired under warranty. The service agent said they don't do that. I asked again if the phone was sent to LG, but still could not get an answer.

All I wanted is for LG to repair the phone under warranty or give me a reason in writing why the warranty will not be honoured.
