Vodacom
Cancellation of contract

Vodacom called me offering me a second contract. I was told that I can return the phone within a 14days at no extra cost. I decided today that I don't need a 2nd phone. I called Vodacom's call centre (082 1958) to cancel the contract. After taking all my details the lady (Refilwe) says that she'll email the cancellation and collections dept my cancellation request. I then ask that she includes me on that email so that I can have written confirmation of my request to cancel the contract. She tells me that the company policy does not allow her to send such email to external parties. I then explain to her that I only have a 14 day window period to lodge for cancellation this contract without incurring penalties which expire tomorrow, if for whatever reasons she doesn't do what she says she'll do I have no protection as there is no written acknowledgement from Vodacom. I ask for her email address so that I can send her an email stating my request to cancel the contract, she refuses and when I ask for her name and surname, she only provides her name and tells me she's not allowed to give me her surname? I am very disappointed at Vodacom's appalling service. Where is the customer care?
