I have a contract with Cell C... After seeing that I still have a lot of minutes, messages and data left on my contract but that my current usage stands at R336.52, (which puts my contract at over R800 for a supposedly R200 contract) I called Cell C and asked what was going on?
They told me I was subscribed for a service named Smartcall, but they could not tell me what it is, when I subscribed or even remove the subscription from a bill that THEY are suppose to have control over. They just gave me a number to call and told me that that was where my money was going to. R17.50 minimum per day, but sometimes it is deducted more that once a day... Up to five times daily! I googled Smartcall and dicovered that it is a company called Smartcall Technology Solutions that is basically a to people's money with the consent of our cellphone companies. (This is not just a cell c problem, I saw it with MTN customers also) So now I'm just wondering who should I blame? Who is going to refund my money?? Cell C that is supposed to be in control of who they let deduct money from my account or Smartcall, the company that I've never heard of but apparently subscribed to?
