SIM Swap charges

I had an iPad2 and standard 3G modem with a multi sim contract. Then bought an iPad mini and hence needed to change my existing micro sim to a nano sim. Paid R69 to get that SIM swap which I was fine with. But when they did this swap they affected the normal sim card for my modem which couldn't connect to the network anymore. I was then told I had to do another SIM swap to sort this out and charged another R69. Why do I have to pay for a mess up on their side?
