30 days install for a month to month service?

To whom it may concern,

I am currently staying in a holiday apartment in Strand for the next 2 to 3 months. I need ADSL connectivity for my internet needs as I am an IT professional. I contacted Telkom to find out about their uncapped 4Mb service that they offer on a month to month basis. The apartment has the installed infrastructure, telephone plug etc. and the DSL Check application says that Telkom supports up to 4Mb speeds at the adres of the apartment block.

I phoned Telkom to find out what the procedure is to activate the ADSL service and was told that it will take up to 30 days for activation! 30 days activation for a month to month service is pathetic. It does not take 30 days to check the exchange, see if any ports are available, connect the apartment's line if not connected all ready, add a Telkom phone line number and activate the ADSL on the telephone line. As I will only be there 2 to 3 months it becomes a silly exercise.

I would think that if you offer a month to month, no contract service that you would at least be able to enable/activate said service immediately or at most within 2 to 3 working days.
