Offer of a new contract over the phone

I am having a problem with Vodacom as my wife was called by a consultant offering her a new contract & my wife was a temp then & her contract expired where she was working. I've been getting calls from Vodacom legal saying i need to pay them & i explain to them that i need the recordings between my wife & the consultant who offered her a contract over the phone. Vodacom advised me to call Reward as they are the one who were making that offer and when i call them they said the matter is still under the investigation & they will phone me to give me the results. My wife's number is now terminated from Vodacom network & i need answers as we paid all the monies that was in arrears and when i phone Vodacom regarding my wife's number (076 9394 293) they said i only have 2 options which is to activate the line & continue with the monthly instalment or i should pay a lump sum amount to cover the months left for this contract to expire of which i don't have that kind of cash as i fail to understand how can you offer a person who is not working a contract & expect him/her to pay at the end of the day. I will be glad if i can get answers & my wife's number to be activated.
