I have a 1 Meg uncapped line with Mweb which has been throttled to about 20Kb, after contacting Mweb I was informed that I had high usage and this would take 8 to 9 days for this to be rectified. Asking the consultant what was acceptable usage she was unable to answer the question, but the fact remains that I have a 1Meg uncapped line which I have used too much according to some mythical figure and a usage document that serves as a means to allow Mweb Cart blanch to restrict your service at their discretion.
I was informed that I would need to upgrade to a 2Meg line to stop the throttling and if I use too much does this mean that this will Incur throttling again?
I work for one of the major banks and am required to do standby after hours and at a speed of about 20Kb this will not be possible, I have been with Mweb for a good number of years, I have never defaulted with a payment, is it my fault that all of a sudden Mweb seems to have a bandwidth issue and uses this excuse to throttle my account. My usage pattern of the system has not changed and did I receive a refund or discount on my account when the seacom cable was damaged? NO!!! Perhaps I need to look at another ISP
