You get complementary Telkom Mobile wifi hotspot allocation with some contracts and prepaid plans, and kudos to them for that.
However Telkom use EAP-SIM authentication for their wifi hotspots, and although they know it, this method of authentication is not supported by the majority of devices using the biggest mobile OS out there, Android.
Do they tell you this at time of signing a contract? No. Do they publish an EAP-SIM config package for Android as they do for iOS? No. Do they offer alternate means of authentication? No.
SO beware Android users, no Telkom wifi for you even though it is offered as a sweetener on their contracts!
Am cancelling my contract because of this.
