I had a case where someone took a contract with MTN with my ID and I went to the MTN Eastgate to report this with the necessary details (i.e. Affidavit, ID copy, etc.). This was last year 2012 in August. Today 05 September 2013, I went to an MTN to try to buy a new phone only to find out that this case is still open and I cannot buy the item. To top it all off, they say the reason it has not been closed is because I have not submitted any documents, which is totally utter nonsense. I have been contacting them to follow up and eventually one of the assistants told me that the case has been closed, which is why I was surprised today when told it is not closed.
My problem is that in all this time, no one even bothered to contact me and let me know that there are documents missing. It has been a year now.
I totally can't believe I have been subjected to such incompetence. Now I have to go to the Police Station again, and do another affidavit because they took the original one which I had submitted at the MTN Eastgate store. This is really frustrating and totally incompetent.
