Sim swop/Upgrade Fail

I received an sms from Vodacom informing me I can upgrade my phone. I went in to Vodacom Midrand, and the gentlemen assisting us started to insist I upgrade to a more expensive package. I declined numerous times and he kept insisting. After 5 minutes of arguing I managed to finally keep my current package. The phone I wanted required a swim swop, so I proceeded with the swop. After 2 hours neither my old sim/phone or new sim/phone was working! I phoned Vodacom 111 Customer Care and the lady told me the swop has been stopped and that she could not assist me with the problem. She had to log a call with IT. It has been almost 12hours, and I have not had any connectivity! My job requires me to be reachable 24hours a day, and I am stuck!! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?? How many people sim swop every day and how is this affecting my job??? NOT HAPPY I am considering canceling this entire deal.
