I noticed that my debit order in May for my son's cell phone contract was not deducted. I sent an enquiry on the 3 June. Sindisiwa from Cell C responded on the 8 June that the debit order did not go through because " I deposited a R3506 cash payment into the account."
I emailed her back to say that I did not make this deposit and to check if there is no duplication of this number.
I received a phone call from her advising there is no duplication and I told her to debit my account anyway as I don't want my account to go into arrears whilst they investigating.
Then after receiving my July statement indicating the normal debit order amount will be debited, my account gets debited for 3 instalments.
This was what I was trying to avoid all along. I put a stop on the debit order and still paid more than a month's subscription via eft as I had not budgeted for 3 debit orders.
I got a call from Thabo in customer service who said he is going to suspend my account if the balance is not paid and I told him not to. Why should I be penalized because they did not resolve my query and they misallocated someone else's money into my account?
They are very quick to call you and suspend you
