I've had intermittent connection problems with my MTN connection. Today I wasted my time calling the Call Centre to see if there was a network problem.
After holding on for ages, the first guy said he couldn't see a problem. He then put me through to Data Support. The person who answered said he couldn't help me as they deal with problems on devices. I expressed my frustration, saying I had obviously been put through to the wrong department.
He then asked some technical questions about the modem, which I could not answer but I tried to describe what I saw on the screen. At this point he got quite sarcastic at my lack of knowledge. I started explaining why I was so frustrated and begged him, literally, for better customer support, as I simply wanted to resolve the problem.
The whole time while I was talking he talked over me. Is this how MTN train their staff? Have they got so big that they don't have to bother helping customers anymore?
It's not the first time I've had terrible customer service from their Call Centre (I've been with MTN since 2007), and it's got to the point where I will probably not renew either my data or my cellphone contract.
