Telkom's response to our complaint was that it is"not profitable enough" for them to install lines in our complex. "Not profitable enough"... are they really that arrogant?
I do not understand how this can be an appropriate answer when I have applied for a business/adsl line and other home owners I know in my complex also want business /adsl lines. Telkom actually has a potential of making money from 24 Units. If our business continues to run for another 20 years... how can this not be profitable for Telkom?
As Telkom owns a monopoly in this country, who else can we turn to for a business / ADSL lines?
I personally believe it is our human right to have access to a telephone line.
There are Telkom lines in every complex next to us, behind us and in front of us.
I do not believe they are holding up to their values.

I feel that they are creating a false promise to their clients by accepting the deposits. Surely this opposes the consumer protection act?
Thus I propose the question: How many thousands of deposits does Telkom hold without refunding them and what happens to the interest?
