I have been with MTN for many years - since cellphones came out in fact! What does loyalty get me though? Not much. I currently have TWO voice contracts with MTN - one of which is in month 21 of the 24 month contract. This is an MTN Anytime 500 which costs R550 p/m. These are harsh times financially and we can't afford this package anymore. When I told them I wanted to upgrade and move to a Anytime 200 package I was told this is a lower package than what I am currently on and this would cost me R1600 to do if I did this now. I must wait till the contract is up (24 months) on 21 October 2013 and then I can upgrade for "free". Well this is NOT acceptable. I will just follow what my husband has been telling me for years "go to Vodacom". The contract will be cancelled on maturity and I will take my "unappreciated" business elsewhere. Tell that to RETENTIONS!
