CHANGING OF SIM CARD FROM CONTRACT TO PRE-PAID

I ordered the phone where i initially arranged for my prepaid number to be converted to contract. I instead requested for new number and leave my pre-paid number as it was. I realised after activation of my new allocated contract number's activation that my Pre-paid has also been converted to contract. I immediately called Vodacom and was advised that it took up to a maximum of 48 hours for the number to be reversed to pre-paid.
The request for reversing of this number was done on the 11th of July 2013 but even up to date it is not cahnged.
Vodacom keeps on telling me that they are in the process of doing that meanwhile i am tempted in using t airtime and data bundles that came with the package.
