Wont repair phone under warranty?

I got my new Blackberry upgrade last year August. Up until a few months ago the phone worked fine. Suddenly it went from one problem to the next! Phone being cleared of EVERYTHING twice, battery life would go from fully charged to absolutely drained in the space of sometimes 15 minutes. Eventually the phone began rebooting itself. At first it was once or twice a day up to the point where it would reboot halfway and then begin rebooting again. This is when I decided to take my phone in for repairs at Vodacom Greenstone. My phone being less than a year old was still under warranty so I was relieved I'd have my phone back and working soon. As I work all day my mom took the phone in for me. The woman checked the water damage indicator and happily assured my mom it was white so it was not water damaged. Now I've been told its definitely water damaged so its beyond warranty repair. I was told it could get water damage from walking into a steamy bathroom, standing in front of the stove with it whilst cooking, or even holding it with sweaty hands! My phone is never anywhere near water and so I just cannot accept this rubbish! Now I must pay R2k for a new phone whilst still under warranty?
