Porting of Numbe

I have a contact with MTN that ended the 30th of June. This contract was on my mother's name and I paid the contract. I currently went to CellC and wanted to port my number - telling MTN at Garden Route Mall I want to stop the contract when it expires and move it over to CellC. They said everything will be fine, CellC can port the number as soon as the contract expires. We tried to port and it failed 3 times. Now MTN wants to bill me for another month on a contract I don't even use. When I port the number I loose all of my minutes and so on, making the number prepaid, i will also loose it. why should I then pay for a contract that I ARRANGED should be stopped when it expired. I knew this was going to happen because their pathetic service is the main reason I went over to CellC. This will be the 4th time I will need to phone and try to port the number. I will not be paying the bill for MTN.
