I recently took out a contract with Cell C. I have had one debit order come off my account. I called on Friday 21/06 and requested the change from debit order to cash payments. I was contacted today informing me that I must either be unemployed or my bank account must have closed in order to make the change. I have had contracts with MTN and Vodacom and I have changed my payment options with a phone call. Why is Cell C being a pain? Furthermore, I asked the caller why all the trouble and he said it is mandatory to have a debit order if you want a Cell C contract with - Really? Why did the sales person give me the option in the first place? Why didn't they say that it can't be changed when I signed up. If this is the case I need to explore cancelling this contract.
