Contract expiry and payment of last month

I am on the Internet promo 10 contract. I called the Customer care center on the 14th June 2013 to make sure that my contract that is ending on the 6 July is actually terminated on that date (was told to call 20 days before end of contract to make sure contract is cancelled).
Only to be told that i will be charged for the full amount of R299 at the end of July for 6 days use in July and there is no pro-rata rate.
So i asked that they terminate it at the end of June and was told that there is then a R400 early termination fee?
I don't mind paying R299 for the month of July but give me the full month to use the data allocation, don't tell me i will have to pay R299 for six days use in July.

I have also just recently taken out an LTE contract with Telkom / 8ta which just needs to be activated but if this is the sort of thing i am going to have to put up with, i'll just cancel that contract.

This has been reported to [Email Removed] and they sent me these codes ([11102218], [11098287]), no explanation as to what they are but that is all i got and that was on 14 June.
