Cell C
5 years later and they still think I owe money

Once again CellC has decided that a closed account is in arrears, after I received a mail from their accounts department stating that having closed my account I was owed funds from CellC.

In 2009 I cancelled and transferred my cellphone contract from CellC to MTN. At the time CellC continued to deduct funds from my account after the number port had been made. A Fax sent to CellC in 2009 asking for my funds to be repaid went unanswered. In 2010, while applying for vehicle finance, I recieved a report from my bank stating that I had an impaired credit record. Upon investigation, I discovered that CellC had indicated that I had not paid my account! After toing and froing I received a mail on the 6/Oct/2010 from Nditsheni Muravha confirming that my account was up to date. I recieved my outstanding funds the following year (2011!) with no accumulated interest. My ITC report has since reflected no arrears in my contract with Cellc.

Last week I received an SMS from Pholosa, a debt collections agency working for Cellc, stating that I had an outstanding account with Cellc. I was then (as before) asked to go to a number of Cellc departments to sort this issue out. No help so far!
