Mtn active ad hoc broadband downtime

When trying to activate ad-hoc broadband purchases on MTN ACTIVE the following message appears:

We are currently experiencing downtime and will not be able to perform any transactions. Please try again later

I've gone back over the last two weeks but the service just stays down.
