Mtn
Information non disclosure

Have been an MTN customer for about 15 years. Upgraded my contract 3 months ago. Took the Samsung G III. asked the consultant if its the same as my last contract, was told it was. Asked him to make a recommendation with regards to the handset I should go for. Was advised the Samsung was the best. My bill was usually about R400 per month. My last 2 bills have been over R2000 and R1700 receptively. I can not afford this. After querying this I was told its DATA. I had taken off all my APP's and had also purchased bundles using my loyalty points. I have been to the Knysna MTN twice. I have been advised that the best would be to take out my sim card and put it in a another phone. I was not told that the DATA was so expensive and that my account was an open account that can not have any limits activated and that the android phone need huge amounts of data just to be on. I only use whats app, Facebook and twitter and this costs me almost R2000 a month. a luxury I cant afford and now have to not use my phone at all. I am not happy and will probably not support MTN once I can get out of this contract. What does the consumer act say about this?
