Contract expired on the 10th may 2013

Contract expired on the 10th may and I send cancellation letter on the 9th of april 2013. On the 15th may 2013 I called to check if my contract has been cancelled and the agent told me is not and I have to wait for 21 days. Every time I call they say I have to wait for 21 days to pass before the cancel the contract.
