I took out a contract 7 years aga at Altech for my son. Insurance was sold to me, seeing that the phone was for my son who was going to high school. He is now 2nd year in varsity and for the first time we need to claim as the phone was badly damaged when it fell. Saturday we visited the Boksburg branch we were told it can take up to 14 days as they need to send it for damage assessment. After explaining that we need to have a way to contact him, cant they lend us a temporary phone? No they can not. My son studies in Potchefstroom and any parent wants to be able to contact their child. To put the cherry on the cake, we were told there is a R350 excess amount. I am flabbergasted... what about people who use their phone for business??? After this phone is fixed I WILL be cancelling the insurance. The contract expires in about 8 months and I WILL move my support somewhere else. The worst of all is that we have been loyal customers for over 11 years with them. We have three contracts with them. My son also can not send out sms's which is part of his bundle. THEY CAN NOT EVEN ASSIST WITH THAT!!! PATHETIC!!!
