For a long time I keep on getting spam from Cell-C about a chance to win with FNB and Cell-C. I consider this un-solicited spam. The thing is that there is no opt-out in the SMS. I have smsed STOP back to the number, but nothing happens. Isn't that against the law. Shouldn't all spammers create a way for the person to stop getting the spam? Especially big corporates.
So what I would really like to know is how Cell-C got permission to send me this spam. Did I agree to this? I do bank with FNB, so did FNB give Cell-C my number? I was with Cell-C a very long time ago, so Cell-C did have my number. How did they know that I banked with FNB, because at the time of the account, I banked with Nedbank. Very suspicious.
