Account activation Sim swap

I took out a phone on top up contract. firstly the contract price did not match the price on the Vodacom website which defeats the whole purpose of advertising the products online.

Secondly, the new phone I took required a micro sim which I got at Vodacom. Because I wanted to keep my old number applied for a sim swap. The top up contract was activated however the sim swap had not happened after a full day. I then called the Vodacom consultant i dealt with who informed me that both the contract and the swap had been activated and i would soon be able to use the new phone with the line. After almost three hours after speaking with with him i checked if my line was working. Surely if the sim swap had been activated as he had said my line would be working BUTthis was not the case. Out of worry i then called the customer care service who informed that on their side the top up contract had been activated however the there was no pending sim swap. This resulted me in having to give them all my details to activate the swap it worked within 2 hrs. Why was i not told the truth when i called Vodacom? Swap was not even pending.had i not called customer care i would still be waiting
