No Common Sense used with Cancelling Membership

I have been a member at your club for about the past 10 years or so and in August I changed medical aids from discovery to resolution health. My premium changed from R105 to R561. I was under the impression that my membership was just being updated but infact a new membership was created for me. I need to cancel my membership as I cannot afford to pat the monthly premium anymore but when i went to cancel it it i was told i have a cancellation fee of - R1300 I have to pay because my contract is now less then a year old. I find this unacceptable as I have been a loyal client for the past 10 years and I am getting no support when i need it. I will rejoin the club in the future but at the moment cannot afford it. I have contacted your call centre and didnt recieve any help. also recieved a call from the club manager who wasnt willing to waver the cancellation fee.
