I was given by a friend of mine vouchers to go and see what escape gym in Umhlanga Durban is like so I went there and a guy by the name of Ash showed me around and then made me fill in application forms but advised that I need to pay a joining fee so that my membership becomes active.
I did not pay that fee as I decided not to join the gym. He called me to come and pay and I told him was will not pay the fee as I am not joining the gym. He did not cancel my application which resulted in the account accumulating costs.
I called the account lady and explained to her but she wasn't willing to help and informed me that I still need to pay the amount.
I called again today as sms say that now I will be listed on credit bureau if I don't make payment, the lady I spoke to told me that the membership was never cancelled and Ash signed me on a 3 year contract and if I want to cancel this contract I have to pay 50% of my three year contract.
I explained to her that none of this information was shared with me and I find it so unfair that they have to spring this on me this late.
