Been trying to get hold of anyone at Planet Fitness to cancel my membership. I contacted the Rivonia branch and was told I need to contact the club where I took out the membership (not sure why because I have a national membership). I tried phoning the Wanderers club on the number listed on the internet (011-327-0606) but there is no answer for the last 5 days (phone just rings and rings).
I was then contacted via email by someone named Thabo Mphuthi who requested an official cancellation letter which I then sent back to him within 10 minutes. Now trying to get him to respond acknowledging my cancellation is impossible.
I then resorted back to trying to phone the Wanderers club. This time I called the Bedfordview branch to get the contact number for Wanderers. They gave me a different number for what I believe is the head-office number (011-327-1808) I asked to speak to someone regarding cancellations. They then transferred me onto someone named Loraine and guess what? The phone just rings and rings with no answer. It is so frustrating trying to deal with this gym!!
I will warn anyone I know of who is looking to join a gym to avoid Planet Fitness, they are absolutely pathetic!
