I have been a member of Virgin Active for the past 2-3 years. We have the contract via the Discovery Vitality agreement. We have recently decided to change our club from Kings Park Durban to La Lucia Durban (due to it being closer and easier). When I spoke to Roslyn (10:28am 04/06/2013) I was told that we would now incur a cost of R30 extra per person to utilise that club due to it havin upgraded facilities and its size, I was also told that it was in the contract that I signed that La Lucia has different fees to other clubs. My point is that I cant understand why should I pay R30 per person, when it is not a "Upgraded Club" like at Moses Mabhida stadium. It is a normal club like Kingsmead. I am very upset with Virgin active as it is implying that due to the Area the club is based in is how they will charge their customers. If I went to the club in Kingsmead (Durban CBD) I dont pay extra. If I go to the La Lucia club (umhlanga) I pay extra. This seems to me like a manner of conducting business as Umhlanga is a "Previously White Area"as opposed to the CBD. Is it because the club pays more rates in Umhlanga? Is it because only the wealthy can afford that extra R30?
