Poor Service recieved regarding Newton Shoes

I recently bought a pair of Newton shoes at the 2 Oceans Expo on March 27th 2013. Newton advertises a "No Questions Asked" return guarantee on all Newton running shoes.
The following week I ran 5 km on a treadmill with these shoes. As a result I developed an injury in my left leg muscle. When I tried to return these shoes within the 30 day period they refused to honour the garantee. They told me that they were an independantly owned shoe store and that the return guarantee was a Newton, America policy only.
I was referred to a Newton representative here in South Africa. I contacted and met with him. He watched my gait when I ran with these shoes and informed me that the shoes should work for me but I needed a slow introduction to minimalist shoes. This made no sense as I had been running in minamalist "Innov8" shoes for the past year.
He refused to take these shoes back and refund me telling me that Newton SA did not offer the return warantee. He did offer to replace them with another pair of Newtons which would not have helped in any way as it is obviously the technology of the shoe causing my problem.
