My mom bought a Samsung DV100 camera (barcode 8806071991610) from the Kenilworth store on 07/02/2013 at 14h49pm, which was to be my birthday present in April. My birthday was on 14 April, on which day I opened it (still in unwrapped packaging), but the wall plug wouldn't charge the camera - I didn't pay much attention to it. Yesterday, 28 April, I attended a wedding and took the camera with, which had two bars of battery life.
I later downloaded the pics (the battery was on its last). Again, the wall socket plug wouldn't work (this was now in a different wall socket). It only charged while in my laptop via the USB cable. Less than 20 mins later (the camera off), I hearda clicking sound as if it taking a photo, and I felt the the camera which was over-heated, and wouldn't turn on at all.
I took it to the store this morning, and dealt with Fawwaz, and his manager Noluthando, said it was over the 7 day return period, and they can only send it for repairs (2-3 weeks!). If this had been 6 months later I could understand, but a first use and both this happens, is a big deal for something that costs R1, 199! This is a dodgy product, and they wouldn't let me exchange it. Bad service CNA!
