I had called into the tiger wheel and tyre store in Randburg on Saturday to enquire about the stock and price of their tyres. I had explained to the gentleman that i required a single tyre, this is the listing i had received: Pirelli tyre: R4600, Goodyear Essential Grip: R4700 After finding out that drive a BMW X1 - why is there a need to know what car i am driving if i have all the tyre specs : 255/40/R18.
Well to cut a long story short i paid R3400 for the same tyre from Jody tyres brand new and fitted. That is a measureable R1300 difference! When i asked the Tiger wheel and tyre sales consultant why so expensive he started giving me specs of the tyre stating the tyre can do 300km/h last over 45000 kms etc... Doesnt make sense does it? Such rips offs!
