Promised discount on drill not honored

Macro had a special on a bosch drill for R1550.00. My friend and i went on the day but they were sold out. Spoke to the manager Brendan Adams and our name were written in a book with the promise that as soon as they get stock in they will phone us and we will get the drill at the discounted price. When they got stock in my friend drove 20km to the store to buy the drills. At the store he was told in no uncertain terms by Brendan Adams that he was not going to honour his pledge. I am truly upset and feel hard done done by by this manager. I just wonder if he would have acted differently if my friend was a white custome
