Staff unable/unwilling to make decisions

Saturday afternoon, 9th March. My wife and I went into the Canal Walk branch and wanted to buy a TV and one or 2 other things. I settled on A Samsung TV for R9800-00, and a Samsung docking station for my phone for R999-00.

My wife presented her TV license, but because her license is in her maiden name, and her ID in her married name, Cheslynne (spelling?) was unwilling to accept it, citing problems with the SABC. We have been married for 21 years, and it has always been in her maiden name. The ID number matches, and it is a perfectly valid, paid up TV license.

In my opinion, this indicates one of 2 things: either the staff are not trained sufficiently to make decisions in these situations, or they are not empowered to make these decisions. Both of these lead to bad service.

I went to 2 other shops in the center (Audio Vision and Samsung) and both had no issues with the license. I spent R9500-00 at Samsung.

Dion wired had a very good price on the Samsung docking station for my Galaxy S3, but I am unwilling to return because of the bad service I received, nad may never return at all.
