Poor Quality Samsung TV

I bought a samsung 40" Full hd LED tv on the 25th of Nov 2011 for an amount of R5800 in December 2012 the upper left hand corner of the the LED panelling died and as a result i cannot see the whole picture. So I took it to Makro in January 2013 for them to take it in for repairs. When i got there they told me the tv was out of warranty and could not help. Now being a person who is very meticulous about such things i would have never taken a Tv of this value if i known it only comes with a 1 year warranty. After a small argument they agreed to book it in for repairs and told me that 5 months later all Samsung TV's came out standard with a 2 year warranty and that i'd know the outcome. They later on told me i should have taken an extended warranty which I would not have had any problem doing had i been informed at the time. They said i'd get a response. Almost 5 weeks later when i call to follow up they tell me that the supplier has rejected the repair and that i must come fetch my broken tv, that through no fault of mine broke. Who buys a Tv to keep it only for a year almost 6 grand down the drain. Am not please at all that makro sell such bad quality electronics.
