Edgars
False Advertising

Thursday the 23 January 2014 at about 6pm, I visited Edgars Store at Pavillion shopping center for their sale that they were having. After spending some time selecting merchandise that were on sale, I proceeded to the point of sale counters in Men Wear. There was a long line and only two cashiers on duty, so after waiting for about half an hour in the line I get to the teller only to be told that the shorts (Stone Harbor) I have chosen is not scanning at the discounted 50 percent off. I explained to the cashier that how can you advertise a discount on the item and say it not on sale as i have picked the items from a rack that clearly stated it on 50 percent off? She said that according to head office if it does not scan at the discounted price it not allowed to be sold at the reduced price. I explained to her that it is false advertising and it is against CPA protocols. I asked to speak to the manager which she could not find. I waited over 15 minutes for a manager and decided to leave. Edgars Pavillion managers do not like facing customers, this is what the staff says. The store manager should be held accountable for the false advertising and the procedures that lack in that store.
