On the morning of 18 November 2013, I went to Midas in Carletonville to purchase a part for my BMW. The item I requested was not in stock, and I asked the salesman to order the part for me. He called the supplier and upon giving the supplier a part code, he gave me a written quote for R545. When I arrived at the shop at two o'clock, I was told that there was a problem, because the part was now nearly R1300. Upon my question of how this could be possible, he just shrugged his shoulders, and said that's the price he received with the invoice, and that the supplier had given him a price on another code. The salesman was not prepared to contact the supplier to find out what the problem was. The Manager of the shop, an Indian male, was standing close by, but did not comment on the situation when asked to. He ignored what was happening and turned his back on the scene. I called Midas Head office, He promised to hand the problem over to the Regional Manager. Up to now I haven't had any feedback concerning the matter.
