Why do you take out an account protection plan

My mother had an Edgars account for a number of years. She also had an account protection plan with Edgars, for which she paid an amount of about R20.00 per month. Last year on 27/07/2013 she passed away. I went to Edgars in Key West, and gave them copies of her Death Certificate & a copy of the ID that shows that she passed away. A few weeks later, Edgars contacted us, and told us that the account is in arrears. I was eventually told that the copies was not certified. I made certified copies of all and again took it in. We didn't hear anything again. A few weeks ago, on the cellphone my mother had, we again started getting sms's that the account is in arrears. Yesterday we were called again, about the account that is in arrears. Edgars do you have an administration problem? Does the account protection plan mean nothing? Then please advice all your clients to cancel their account protection plans, as it is money wasted. Please is somebody going to sort out the problem?? I don't work for Edgars, so I can not do their admin.
