Bad practice by P&P & extremely rude manage

On 26/12/2013 I bought 2 bulbs @ R18 each.
On 04/01/14 I went to return and replace them as I had bought the wrong size. The bulbs had more than DOUBLED in price in 9 days!!
The assistant went to find the manager for me as I was sure there must have been a mistake. Eventually I met the manager. He did not acknowledge or greet me. He just stared at me. I am 64 and under five foot, he is way over 6 foot and very large - very very intimidating.
I explained about the bulbs, he looked down on me and said "so what" very rudely. So I said that for something to go up by more than 100% in 9 days was surely not right or acceptable practice. He said "yes, it is". And that was that - he walked off with my receipt. I followed him and asked for my receipt back. I got it back all scrunched up into a little ball.
I cannot believe the rudeness and disrespect from this man and I still question the ethics of such a huge increase in 9 days.
