False Advertising - Returns Policy

Recently, Game have been advertising nationally that if you receive a gift and want to return/exchange it, then if Game stocks it, they will do so - no receipt required!

I received an Alumna Wallet for Christmas and simply wanted to change it for a different colour Alumna Wallet. The gift-giver told me they had bought it from Game, and after hearing Game's adverts, I thought it would be no hassle at all. However, when I got to customer service I was told that because the product is from the Homemark department, I have to have a slip. I was told I would have to go to the Homemark store in Menlyn to do the exchange. I told them about the adverts that if Game stocked it then they could exchange it, but to no avail. This is clearly contradictory to what Game have been advertising. The product was not bought from the Homeware store, it was bought from Game, and as they therefore stock it, they should have been able to exchange it. This was an extremely frustrating experience.
