We purchased an item from the Life Clothing Store at gateway mall, Umhlanga for the sum of R600-00. The item was the incorrect size and within three days of returning to the store to exchange the garment, the store manager Jackie Ramcharan refused to exchange/refund the garment for the full purchase price on the basis that the garment was now a "sale" item and was now selling at R150 lower than the initial purchase price. This was the attitude of the manager despite we being in receipt of the sales purchase receipt confirming that we had paid R600 for the garment and not the sale price of R450. This is utter nonsense and the attitude of the manager was that was store policy and she couldnot explain why they were not adhering to the consumer protection act.
