Unwillingness to resolve query

I did a free itc check on myself only to find out that I have a default against my name from Woolworths. This is news to me considering i have not used my account in many years. I called Woolworths to clarify the situation, they could not give me details of the transactions making up the amount, referring me to their attorneys. I called the attorneys, who could not give me details and referred me back to Woolworths. After calling Woolworths again, I was confronted with hostility by the Woolworths call centre consultant, Thembi Saluthi, not really willing to help, insisting that i must take it up with the attorneys. Once again I called the number 011 560 4733 for the attorneys, and after being cut off more than 5 times, I spoke to Naledi, and was told the same story. She however, promised to call Woolworths on my behalf and call me back in an hour. I am still waiting 4 hours later, and after another 4 attempts at calling this number and being cut off, I am giving up. I find the behaviour of a so called retail giant absolutely abominable. What must one do to get queries resolved?
