Green Cross
School shoes unwearable after 6 months: at R400?

We purchased a pair of Green Cross school shoes (style 4113 8 black) for my daughter, 6th pair over her school career (a different style this time) to date and this pair developed big holes in the heels at 6 months where the others lasted an average of 18 months.

We returned the shoes to Gateway and the assistant mentioned that that the shoes would be repaired or replaced but they would consult the factory.

We were called today and told rather rudely that the shoes "heels colapsed" and this was as a result of the way my daughter walks, seriously? We worked out with holidays and weekends the shoes were worn exactly 78 days, again I say seriously?

We insisted that every other pair we have had lasted 3 times as long and that this being well within 12 months, sure the shoes should be fixed or replaced?

I am seriously not impressed, we invest a LOT more in school shoes so our daughter can benefit from the health advantages only to have to face terrible return or repair policies.

We won't give up, as a matter of principle but buyers beware, Green Cross are expensive, generally a good shoe but sadly when they go wrong you are left out in the cold!
