Last week sometime on the way home I had my heart set on Chinese from Golden Dragon in PMB... the restaurant was closed, horror, shock, a mixture of emotions I won't delve into!
I get fish instead, satisfactory substitute.
So my lunch-time craving sets in at 9:30am this morning and by, I have to have Chinese! I phone them... no answer! Assumptions darting, it cannot be... please Lord, they just HAVE to be open.
I CANNOT focus on work until i know...
I phone Woolies across the carpark... wondering for only a split-second how I'm going to wangle this craving with assertiveness without appearing weak.
I ask..."Hello, pls can you tell me if Golden Dragon is open, you can just please put me through to someone closest to the window..."
Silence.
"Uh, not a problem, please hold for me while I transfer you"
Ring, ring, ring (I think at this stage they are probably all having a good giggle at me or deciding if I'm altogether there)
"Hello, Sboniso speaking, how can I assist you? " Thank! They didn't cut me off - i'm halfway there!
Same desperate assertiveness used on Sboniso.
"Sure m'am please hold...*holding*..."Hi m'am, they only open at 11am"
