I went to the bakery to buy plain sponge cake two weeks ago and I was referred to the bakery manager (Disney). I asked how much they charged for a tray of plain sponge cake and he said the standard price is R70. He made me vanilla sponge, I collected and left. Today, I went back for another plain sponge I had ordered through Disney (the bakery manager) and the store manager (Deon) indicated that the price charged was way too little. He addressed me like I was there to actually the cake, no respect whatsoever. He then continued to take the box from my hands. When I suggested he collaborate my story by talking to the bakery manager who was not at the shop at the time telephonically he said he "didn't need to talk to Disney because, He was the Store Manager" I am disgusted by this behavior and am not surprised at all that this particular Spar is not the best of the crop. I bought rotten chicken from them before. They change bakery staff every three months... It is run like a corner cafe or a mom and pap shop. I am left wondering if even the managers go on some kind of training. They could learn a thing or two from their competition (Pick n Pay Honey Junction)
