Genesis Iron repairs drama

I purchased a Genesis iron this year (30/03/2013) at Checkers Mayville and all of the sudden the iron stopped steaming. I took it in on the 28 September 2013 with the hope of some replacement (since it is still under warranty/guarantee). I was told that the iron cannot be replaced as it is not manufactured anymore- it has to repaired. I was referred to a Verimark shop. Since I was on my way to Kolonnade, I took the iron there and was assisted by Katlego. I explained to him the dilemma that I had because it was the only iron I had at the time - he promised that they will do their best to attend to it as speedily as possible.
Since I left my iron, I haven't heard from them- whether or not my iron can be fixed or not. I phoned to enquire and was told that Katlego was unavailable to take my call. I asked about the progress of my iron, I was told that the iron is still not fixed because they do not have a screwdriver to repair it. What a load of rubbish - I have been without an iron this long, it is still not fixed and they are waiting for a screwdriver - and they do not even know when it will arrive! Maybe they should just refund me so that I can buy myself an iron somewhere
