No response - promise to send paid up lette

I have been sent from one place to the next on this matter. The account has been settled via VVM based on me approaching to settle and now I cannot get a paid up letter, only empty promises since 20 August 2013. I really am not sure what to do now. I have been calling the Edcon Call Centre since 20 August 2013 to get a paid up letter. I must admit that the matter was handed over to VVM, but my financial situation has improved greatly and hence I called them and settled an amount of R10 428.26. When I called VVM, they said they have no record of the account and that I should call Edcon and request a paid up letter. I eventually got the name of the manager to refer this to at Edcon [Email Removed] - no reply since 09 September and also no responses to follow-up email. I then on enquiry with the Edcon call centre, spoke to Nomathelo who took my details down and promised a paid up letter. I''m not wasting my money calling the call centre again. I kept my side of the deal, I truly wish Edcon would honour its side of the agreement. I'm so disappointed because I have been patient and trusting in the process. To no avail.
