On Saturday 14 September 2013 I purchased 2 x vacuum packaged meat espitadas (lamb & beef) at Spar Sonstraall Heights branch. Upon opening and cooking them, we noticed that the meat was very tender and we thought it was probably just well-matured.
A few hours after dinner my entire family was violently ill. We were up all night with everyone suffering the most awful bouts of vomiting. The common denominator was the meat they had eaten from Spar.
On Sunday 15 September 2013, I took the offending product (what was left of it) which I had cooked, as well as the packaging in which we had purchased it, back to the Sonstraal Heights Spar. I explained exactly what had happened to the Store Manager on duty at the time, Brent Lindeman. He took my details and told me that someone would get back to me.
Later on Sunday, Mr Tony Watson phoned me. I had to explain the whole situation to him again. He told me he was a "Director" of Spar and that he would get back to me on Monday or Tuesday. I have not heard a word from anyone at Spar again.
I am most disappointed in Spar's total lack of interest and the fact that they have made no attempt whatsoever to compensate me.
