OMO guaranteed free gift competition on packs

I purchased a 750 ml OMO liquid detergent and followed the instructions for the competition on the front of the pack. A call centre agent contacted me and informed me that I would need to travel to Durban, Johannesburg or Cape Town to claim my "free gift". When I told her that I was in Pietermaritzburg and did not consider this a free gift if I had to travel. She told me to hold, then conveniently couldn't find her supervisor and asked to call me back. After one week and still no response. I contacted the call centre and was told that the lady who called me the first time would immediately call me back. It has been another week and I have still not heard back from her. I think this is false advertising on OMO's part. If this "free" gift was meant fro consumers in the Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town areas, why is it been advertised in Pietermaritzburg. Should we accept a "free" gift at our own expense?
